Dr Colyvas is the go-to chap if you want an expert knee surgeon. Once I’d researched the need for having my medial meniscus root tear repaired (literature shows if you don’t, chances are you’ll need a TKR in 3 years), I did an exhaustive search - including asking Physical Therapists for recs - for the very best surgeon in the SF Bay Area: Dr C at UCSF.But besides his clear expertise, he is a caring practitioner, very good communicator, answers questions without feeling rushed and his follow up is great. I would wholeheartedly recommend him. I had my surgery in May 2024.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
