I came near death when my extremely large prostrate ( usually the largest the doctor had ever seen) began to bleed profusely. Dr. Stroumbakis, whom I not seen in several years, stepped right in and arranged for me to be transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be operated on immediately by one of the top surgeons at the hospital. They lost track of how many transfusions I had. After I was brought back to Greenwich Hospital, Dr. Stroumbakis came in to check on me every day - a real comfort. I met with him at his office 2-3 times a week until I completed my recovery. The entire experience lasted 2 months. Dr. Stroumbakis can seem a little gruff at times, but he is immensely caring of his patients.
