Our family member had a pretty scary diagnoses of various psychotic disorders (Schizophrenia vs Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar type, vs Bipolar I Disorder), and had been on mood stabilizers and antipsychotic medications for years. After serious discussions and considerations, we tapered and removed the psychiatric medications, so we could get a new mental health baseline and evaluate the situation better. And at the end of this treatment plan, our family member is successfully off all medications, does not have these diagnoses anymore, and is feeling and functioning great. Pretty remarkable!! Dr. Shadid's input was life changing and helped to open up an entirely different trajectory in life for our family member's future.
