Patient Reviews
May 01, 2022
I was in excruciating pain when I came into the ER. I could only lie on my left side. After 2 hours (busy place) a room opened & the gentleman who came to get me went & got my bed instead of having me sit in a wheelchair or walk. I didn’t catch his name. After the usual vitals etc. & records & CT scan from my prior 2 visits to Newton Mercy One, Dr. Ismail introduced himself as my surgeon. He said we’d go into surgery either tonight if schedule allowed or tomorrow. He said he would remove the infected abscess. Abscess???? All I heard from Newton ER was internal hemorrhoids. He said that was not the case, He explained exactly what he was going to do. For the fist time in the last 2 days, I felt I was being understood & was in good hands! I was given pain meds previously & given a number of surgeon to follow up with. One said I could be seen May 26th!! Finally got one scheduled for Tues, May 4th. I hate to think what would happen if it burst with infection. Thanks Dr Ismail

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
