my 11 year old fell while ice skating, we went to urgent care and they didn't see a fracture on x-ray and diagnosed her with a sprain with instruction to follow up with orthopedic if it didn't get better. After a week it was not better so we tried to make an appointment where we had previously gone but they couldn't get us in and got us an app in Portsmouth and we saw Dr. Urbanek. He was amazing with her. The x-ray again didn't show an obvious fx but because of the pain she was experiencing, he was convinced there was an injury and put her in a cast for 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks we went back to see him and repeated x-ray did show healing bone formation so back in a cast she went for another 3 weeks. I am so grateful for the time he spent with her and that he listened to her when she said she was in pain. She is very active in sports and gets hurt, he will always be who I will bring her to.
