I've had many consultations and a couple procedures performed by Dr. Magtibay who is extremely skilled and knowledgeable. Initially, he was also very compassionate and concerned with my well being. Upon having my 2nd procedure, a robotic excision of endometriosis, I noticed a decline in his beside manners and a lack of compassion, attentiveness and presence. During the pre-op period, he minimally engaged with me, may have asked a question and seemed rushed yet his notes reflect he completed a thorough pre-op assessment. He carried the same behavior post-op. This did not improve when I had my hysterectomy 2 years later. I suffered an infection post hysterectomy and ended up in re-admitted two weeks after the procedure. I felt uncomfortable reaching out to him so I began resorting to his PA. I appreciate his skills, however, the compassion component is extremely important, specifically when patients are having adverse consequences post surgery.
