Dr. Adekoya is working with me-not just treating me-for the hot mess that is my L4-L5. During my first appointment he walked me through my diagnosis & his plans for my first procedure. He didn’t sugarcoat anything-his calm confidence/lack of condescension left me feeling educated and prepared. He was by my side before/during/after my procedure. I had an unexpected and terrifying allergic reaction to contrast dye in the OR, wheezing/coughing/hives but he and the head nurse were by my side, calming me down and forcing me to focus solely on my breathing while the OR staff scrambled to get Benadryl and other meds onboard. Dr. Adekoya himself administered the albuterol. I knew was safe. He continued to check on me while I was observed post-op & followed up with a phone call that night. He is truly extraordinary. Side note: my primary procedure nurse told me that when the day surgery department saw that he was coming in that morning they were giddy with excitement - he’s a legit rockstar!
