When visiting my husband’s niece, Angela, in Greensboro, Peter told me and my husband about a new surgery he came up with using the radial artery in the arm instead of the arteries in the legs. Years later, my husband had a heart cath done and they told me my husband needed heart surgery, I told the doctors in Asheville about it. He was still under morphine, so I asked where do I sign and when can you start. He told me once that if he ever had to have heart surgery he wanted Dr. Alan Johnson to do it because he is ambidextrous and did not have to change sides of the table. An operating room had just come open so Dr. Johnson was able to perform the surgery and saved my husband’s life. It gave him 25 more years of life. I’m very grateful to Dr. Alan Johnson and Dr. Peter Van Trigt III for saving Arlo’s life. Thank both of you and your teams. Sincerely. Arleen Jennings
