Dr. Astorga is knowledgable, thorough, kind and thoughtful. She surrounds herself with excellent people, Rachel Lopez in particular, which makes a huge difference in the overall quality of care she can provide. Dr, Astorga walked me through one biopsy and did the surgery for a second, and each time I knew I would get the best possible care. Rarely do I have such total confidence in a doctor. The first time I saw Dr. Astorga, I registered a complaint about a chronic office communication problem at CMH that predated her tenure and was in no way her fault. Instead of becoming defensive, or passing the blame, Dr. Astorga listened carefully and actually responded to what I had to say. There was a lucky medical student there in the room who got an unusual example of both humility and compassion. Dr. Astorga's new office has none of the problems of the old. The Covid safety measures are better than anywhere else in the hospital, and the communication and office flow are excellent.
