Again, don't listen to any bad reviews about bedside manner. If you have an unfixable orthopedic injury, this is the guy you want. I sustained a Tib Fib Plateau fx of my knee. Initially I was sent to Lahey Burlington where I was left in a room alone with no personal care being done for me for a week, while the MD tried to figure out how to fix my leg. Finally, one morning, he came into my room with good news, reporting he thinks he figured out how to fix my leg. I had been given contacts at MGH but figured Lahey , MGH pretty much the same... They are NOT. Per Dr Smith, I made it to MGH just in time since one more day without surgery, I would have lost my leg for good. He was able to fix it the next day. It has been almost 5 years and I am still able to walk on it. I can't do a lot of things I used to, but at least I can walk and its all because of this Dr. Smith. He has dry sense of humor and I enjoyed our interactions. So if you want something fixed right, he is the guy to see.

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
