I needed a colon resection, and was referred to Dr Baucom. First surgery I’ve ever had, so it’s a scary experience. It became less scary when other doctors I saw before her asked who my surgeon was and said things like “Oh good, you’re fortunate to have her” and “If my kid had to have that procedure I’d want her doing it, no question.” These are other doctors saying this, but even the nurses in the hospital after surgery had complimentary things to say. And they weren’t wrong. She took wonderful care of me, explained everything before and after the procedure, and used robotics on the procedure, which apparently cuts the recovery time in half. Her skill and ability to keep me in the loop on what’s going on in understandable terms puts her among the very best you can get. Just like the other doctor, if one of my kids needed this, I’d have no question or hesitation about putting them in her hands.
