Patient Reviews
Apr 11, 2023
Dr. Robert Brochin, Chicago Hand and Orthopedic Surgery Centers, operated on my right shoulder late January 2021. I felt Dr. Brochin did a quality job in repairing the problems. In the follow up visit Dr. Brochin did an excellent job explaining what he did to fix the shoulder. I had no difficulty in moving the shoulder within days of the operation. However, I began to have pain in the shoulder and Dr. Brochin referred me to the in-house occupational therapist, Ellen Lowery, for post-operation therapy. Bluntly, this was a BIG mistake. Ms. Lowery belittled me starting late in my therapy; refused to listen to my questions about the exercises, and would discuss her personal life. She frequently called her two children as s***heads. Ms. Lowery complained about her pay and husband's workhours. I tried to befriend Ms. Lowery so I could impart some suggestions about what was proper to discuss with patients but to no avail. I strongly DO NOT recommend the therapy department at CHOSC, Oakbrook.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
