I have been going to this practice for at least 15 years. My original gastroenterologist was Dr. Ira Goldman. When Dr Goldman “retired” my case was given to Dr Herman. Dr Herman performed multiple colonoscopies and endoscopies and I was very satisfied. This year (2023) Dr Herman informed me that he no longer wishes to perform my colonoscopy (which is done in their office suite) because I have COPD. I have had COPD for several years and he performed his services for at least 3 colonoscopies while I had COPD. While I understand the potential risk if something goes awry, I was disappointed that he did not ask for the results of several breathing tests to determine whether my condition was relatively stable or had degenerated sufficiently to present a significant risk. So I have been charmingly dismissed as a patient and am on my own to find a gastro doctor who is willing to perform a colonoscopy and endoscopy (if required) in a hospital setting on an out patient basis.
