Patient Reviews
Aug 08, 2024
I went to the Methodist Germantown ER two days after Christmas with abdominal pain after a procedure (different doctor). I thought I had post-surgical trapped gas and had treated myself at home for gas for six days. What I actually had was a bowel perforation that had led to sepsis. I would have died if I hadn't gone to the ER that morning because I was almost to the point of organ failure. Dr. McGee was on staff that day, performed my emergency surgery, and saved my life. I had a partial bowel resection and a temporary colostomy bag. He also performed my colostomy take down about 11 months later and did my husband's gallbladder removal about a year after that. He is kind, spends time with you as a patient, and listens to your concerns. We will always go back to him for surgical needs the rest of our lives. There is no way we could ever repay him, but I will always be grateful he was the surgeon on call that day.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
