Dear Dr. S:25 years ago, when you were in practice in Livermore, I came to you due to a cavity. It was a baby tooth I still had, and you drilled about half of it out without sedation or Novocain. I think I was your first with that situation. I want you to know, your work still holds to this day and that your dentistry remains enviable with every dentist I have been to since. Sadly, biology has taken precedence. Tomorrow, that baby tooth, currently being re-absorbed into my bone has to be removed. This by no fault of your work. I am sad to see this tooth, with me for 50 years, has to go. But your work survives. I can make no better statement to your work than that. Dr. S... your work survives mortality. THAT is one heck of a statement to your skill and qualifications. I miss you always. Then again, you could always relocate to Tucson..just saying...fan of your work, and if you were near, a customer for life.
