Cancer was found after a seemingly routine appendectomy. After checking who was in network and reading reviews, she was my top choice. The ‘nurse network’ was activated (sibling is a nurse and she spoke to colleagues) to confirm whether my instincts were good. A coworker’s mother, who is a nurse navigator, simply said, “she’s great”. Dr. Stephenson has a warm and caring bedside manner, coupled with up to date information and modern, robotic surgical techniques. I was able to have all visible cancer removed with only 5 small (about half inch) incisions. She has been straight forward with information and spends as much time as I need to get all of my questions answered. I am also very grateful that she agreed to squeeze me in for an appointment within 2 weeks of contacting the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, which I also highly recommend.
