Dr Proffitt is the best. She helped me have a VBAmC after having 2 C-Sections and did not just default to what board members recommend because of risk of lawsuits. She does what is best for you, your body, your baby, and your family and really cares. Rare to find. VBAmC (m is for multiple) is only 2% risk of rupture compared to 1% risk for 1 C Section. When all the nurses at the "baby factory" at Mercy fought us on doing the VBAmC, Dr Proffitt did not take their pushiness. Mercy treats you like you are in a baby factory and wants you in and out quickly, and will do what is most convenient and safe from lawsuits. Two of my kids would not be here today if it weren't for her. She is very knowledgeable and used to work as a labor and delivery nurse. She is very empathetic, and does not do unnecessary exams or overcharge. I have her as an OB & General Practitioner, and she does a great job with both. I've been w/ her for 11 years. All my kids go to her and I'm really happy with their care.
