Our dental office recommended that one of our kids have their wisdom teeth removed and they would do it there. They have several dentist in the office and one that does surgery. The anesthesia did not go well, she was crying and said she remembered what they did. Whole experience took 2 hours or more. Not good. Our younger child who the dentist office said had 'difficult teeth' and told us to take her to an oral surgeon. Well, we did. It went great. She did great. Her surgery went well and took a lot less time. Her recovery was much better. I found out later from a friend who is a nurse that dentist are not trained as well as oral surgeons. Oral surgeons have advanced training in anesthesia so much better and safer. Highly recommend going to an oral surgeon if your kids needs surgery. Do not let the dentist do it. Also, the dentist was more expensive! Makes no sense.
