I have DISH which is very rare. I had osteophytes pushing against my windpipe and esophagus. Every doctor said I needed intervention but De. Kiefer was the only one who do anything about it. He was extremely nice, and he didn't sugarcoat anything. He told me my chances and what could happen. He'd only done the surgery twice before, but he cares so much for his patients, he felt there was no choice with me. It's very difficult but he worked so hard. It was supposed to be an hour surgery, but it became three hours and a half. It told me it was a real mess down there. He had to work so hard using a drill in a very tight space were anything could have happened. I was told by his assistant and other doctors that I wouldn't have been here much longer. I believe God led his hands and he is very gifted. He always showed that he cared; it wasn't just a paycheck. I've had several surgeries, and he is top of the line in my book. Great surgeon; great doctor and great person.
