He literally saved my life I’m 52 (now, 51 pre-op by 2 weeks), don’t smoke or drink and take decent care of myself. I love the outdoors but this last summer (2023) I wasn’t able to fish, or hike, or make it past the TVs in Costco without having to catch my breath for 10-15 minutes. I was being tested/treated for everything from indigestion to adult onset asthma when I got tired of the goofing around and went to the ER. I was referred for an immediate appointment and assessment from Dr Long. He and his team took care of me and my five clogged pipes. A quintuple bypass CABG was scheduled for the following morning and the rest is a blur. He’s a spectacular surgeon, amazing ‘guy’, with the Best bedside manner I’ve ever experienced, and both shoulders, a knee, elbow and neck have been done along with lesser surgeries (tonsillectomy, appendectomy, wisdom teeth, etc). So I have had my fair share of specialists and surgeons, and NONE compare to Dr Long. His compassion for the patient and the family was amazing and his explanations thorough and concise. But not his time spent with the patient. He’s never in a hurry, always talking to you like you’ve been friends for years, and he doesn’t stop when the surgery is complete. I would recommend anyone who is in need of cardio thoracic surgery or care to find Dr. Long and get a referral for a visit He saved my life, and I have no possible way to repay that surgery he knew, knew I needed his skill set, and executed it in the blink of an eye. I’m forever thankful for Dr Long; and his amazing team of PAs, assistants, cardiologists, nurses, orderlies and the entire team of Prov who were all instrumental in giving me another few chapters to write1 Thanks Doc, team, and staff! What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
