Dr. Disney has played a large and largely unknown role in my ability to live with severe arthritis (rheumatoid and psoriatic) since 1976 or 1977. I say unknown because he diagnosed me as having "arthritis" while I was a student at University of Western Ontario. At the time he advised that my undetermined type of arthritis could become more severe but it might be 20 or 25 years; he was so right. His diagnosis allowed me to plan and live my life making employment and personal decisions with potential disease implications in mind. In the pre-biologic 1990s when this devastating disease became intense I was as prepared as I could be, but it took almost 3 years to find a combination of drugs that worked and biologics returned me to a level of health I never again expected. I support research and programs to fight arthritis and to give back to the arthritis community, which I still do through the Arthritis Society in Canada. Thank you for your great diagnosis Dr. Disney!
