Back in the day, 25 years ago this month, Dr. Umstead found a tumor during my yearly exam, immediately sent me for follow up scans, and talked at length to me, explaining that a hysterectomy (at age 42), provided I was done having children at that time, was necessary. He performed the surgery, found ovarian cancer, intact, not spread, and saved my life from a threatening tumor that would've have only grown and spread. Thanks, Dr. U. for the past 25 years....I now have grandchildren, am healthy and always credit you for saving my life!
