Patient Reviews

6 years ago this year Dr. Custer allowed me to live my life again. Gastric Bypass surgery went well, walked me through everything all the way through. After surgery came in every day and sat and talked with me. Had a hiccup with an ulcer but was given the correct meds and was fine. A year after that went to Fairfield ER with the same symptoms that I had before when I had an ulcer. The ER doctor didn’t offer to call to see what he wanted to do. Was given an X-ray and told that I basically just needed to use the restroom and I would be fine. I allowed months to go by with symptoms getting worse. Hurt to eat hurt to drink. Woke up one morning at 3 a.m. with my heart racing gasping for air. I thought I was having a heart attack. Went to Genesis via ambulance in Zanesville where I was treated like I was a drug seeker. In extreme pain had a ct scan done where they found an ulcer had ruptured and was now infecting my body. Was transported to Fairfield where Doctor Custer was waiting for me and rushed me back to surgery. Kept my family updated while in surgery and came to check on me every day until I went home always sitting and talking with me and trying to figure out how it had gotten this far. Fairfield ER never contacted his office like they said they would. Great doctor, always willing to take the time and listen, guide and joke with you.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
