I was referred to Dr. Ahn by my physiatrist in the fall of 2024.I have been in chronic pain for close to 10 years, which I had thought was mostly muscular and due to my career (RDH nearly 20 years- full time). I managed my pain with massage, a lot of stretching, routine exercise, modifications to how I was able to work and for the most part, I was able to tolerate the discomfort - I was 'used to it.'In the fall of 2024 out of no where, I experienced crippling pain- beyond that of a level 10. I cannot put onto words the degree of pain I was feeling. After my MRI revealed a couple areas of concern- the largest area of concern being a severe herniation at C6, I was referred to Dr. Ahn for a surgical consult. When they said Dr. Ahn, I will readily admit, I felt comfortable as he had completed a similar (successful!) surgery on a friend of mine, nearly a decade prior.Here we are now, 6 weeks post-op.
