On 12/15/21 an unnamed Pathologist diagnosed my thyroid nodule as a Bethesda Classification V malignancy. On 2/28/23, Dr. Ray Sukumar from Doctors Pathology Services diagnosed this same thyroid nodule as benign. Dr. Sukumar supported his diagnosis with molecular testing, a review by colleagues in his field as well as a review of the previous slides collected on 12/15/21 by the unnamed Pathologist. A highly respected teaching hospital also expressed agreement with Dr. Sukumar’s findings. I am so very grateful to Dr. Sukumar not only for his obvious expertise, but also for confirming his diagnosis by pursuing all the other ‘checkpoints’ previously noted, thus leaving ‘no stone unturned’. Dr. Sukumar, you are my hero.
