The VA system is overall an amazing, under rated system. When you ADD the quality, concern, interest not in just your health, but goes the extra mile; that's Dr. Schandera! While at the Mather VA, with some soreness in my upper abdomen, the would not allow my wife (with dementia) into the waiting area. This is understandable. BUT after speaking with Dr. Schandera, letting her know that my wife, by this time had been in our car, for almost 6 hours. Dr. Schandera, promptly went out to the parking lot, brought my wife in and covered with a couple of warm blanket. NOW THAT'S A REAL CARING PERSON, and a person, not just a doctor, but who cares about people and families. GOD BLESS Dr. Scheandera
