Our prior dentist retired, so we were referred to Dr Patel by a friend. For 6 years our dentist had not found anything unusual requiring dental treatment other than cleaning. My husband and my appointments were 6 months out, and apparently one needs to book early to get dental hygienists appointments. First a panorama of my teeth was done, then bite wing X-rays. Dr Patel performed a thorough mouth exam and found an abscess under a previous crown and referred me to an endodontist. Then my teeth were thoroughly cleaned along with patient education. Husband went through the same but ended up needing three fillings and deep cleaning in three quadrants. I am always leery of dentists trying to 'upsell' but these seem like legitimate problems. It did take 2 hours for these appointments so plan accordingly. The staff is very nice and helpful.
