He may seem uncaring or condescending to some, but he was incredibly blunt and direct with me at a time that I needed it. My general practitioner sent me to Dr. Wu to have my eyes checked because I had gone from pre-diabetic to full diabetic. After testing, which showed my retinas were fine Dr Wu looked at my chart again and very bluntly said, 'Why don't you just loose weight?' If you took care of that, you could solve every one of your health issues and you wouldn't have to worry about your retinas! It was like a slap in the face, and just what I needed. I lost 90 lbs, started exercising, got off my blood pressure meds. I'm no longer diabetic, and several other health issues just ceased to be problems. My short encounter with him probably added years to my life. I'm more active, healthier, and happier too! Viva the Doctor that doesn't pull punches or soft-peddle what we need to hear.
