It was a terrible visit for my wife. She told my wife (who is 82 years old) she had to stop Metformin and start Insulin. Her Kidney Tests were a little high but the same for the last several years. Her previous doctor at the same clinic said it was not necessary to stop metformin. In the 2 years seeing Dr. Ding her A1C jumped from 6.5 to 9.0. She refused to order metformin and told her if she would not take insulin she should find another doctor. Many doctors say there are risks when a person starts taking Insulin when they are in their 80's. She was very rude to my wife during the visit and we will find another doctor.
