I began working with her in 2021 after losing a child and my husband bff of 20 years. I was pessimistic, as I'd worked with other therapists over the years. With others, I often felt worse after opening up and being vulnerable. Upon the very first session with Dr. Eileen, I knew she was different. She was kind, present, and ready to help me rebuild myself. As I reluctantly opened up about my losses, she exuded empathy, concern, as if she truly cared and wanted me to heal. She regularly exhibits what I feel has been lost in many therapists today. These are a few of many admirable traits she routinely exhibits during every session (over 40): (1) she actively listens without judgment; (2) she shows unwavering empathy during extremely vulnerable sharing; and (3) she never pushes a specific agenda, but rather works with me to formulate strategies I feel comfortable using during challenging moments in my life. By creating a safe space, she has helped me heal and grow in so many ways.
