Utilizing EMDR, Liz helped guide me through processing the worst of my childhood traumas. She responded to even the most horrific descriptions of CSA with empathy, compassion, and kindness. I was never shamed for any of my reactions or feelings to the things that were brought up during sessions. The times when I thought that I couldn't continue, and that the memories would drown me, Liz offered a life preserver. She would never jump in and save me, but held space and was confident that I could save myself. And she was right. Even the sessions where I chose to just talk, I was grateful for her flexibility and stability. No matter what state I was in when I walked into her office, I knew she would be calm, authoritative, steady, and realistic. She easily walks the fine line between empathic clinician and caring human. Liz is knowledgeable, personable, clever, has a great sense of humor, and is a genuinely good soul.
