Of the many speech therapists I have seen in Grand Rapids, Beth Fausone is by far the best. Two things stand out: she is very innovative and experimental but she is also so kind. Many other speech therapists treat severe S and R speech impediments the same way: tell a patient how to form the correct sound and have them read endless lists of words. Beth, however, got at the root of my problem by experimenting with helping me improve my tongue muscle stregnth and learning how to differentiate between a correct and an incorrect sound (nobody else thought to check this!). Very thorough, thoughtful, experimental, and kind. Would highly recommend.
