My children and I were clients for several years. Eyvind supported us through the darkest times as we experienced Domestic Violence and child abuse from my ex-husband. Eyvind supported me in every aspect of parenting. He was the only person that understood how my ability to continue working as an elementary teacher, be professional and high-functioning, resilient, and have good coping skills, did not minimize the impact of Post-divorce Domestic Violence. He accompanied me in school meetings when my 6th grade son was hurting so deeply that he couldn't get out of bed. My own school administrators dismissed my concerns and requests for help for my son, often stating that I was a great mom and an experienced teacher and he would be fine, because he is gifted and "such a nice, smart kid" and to let them know what I decided to do- (there were no school policies for Emotionally Based School Avoidance). Eyvind came to the hospital when my son was admitted for suicidal idealization.
