My nurse practitioner suggested I "talk to someone" after I confided to her about my chronic night terrors/nightmares. She sent me to Gina, and we have been doing trauma work for the past two years. Gina is smart and patient and intentional with the care she provides. She sometimes skirts convention, like the time she met with my best friends at a picnic table in a local park during COVID, or that she encourages me to bring my dog to sessions. Gina's doctoral dissertation speaks to the importance of maintaining a connection with her clients in and in between sessions, and she will text with little wellness checks after a rough session. I know she is invested in my wellbeing. Also, Gina has a great sense of humor and values laughter as a restorative tonic. In short, I'm sleeping more peacefully these days, communicating more honestly with my husband and friends, and feeling more grounded. Thanks, Gina.
