My PCP set up my appt with Dr Gans after I hurt my knee. I had 3 appts prior to my surgery. We discussed various options, including surgery, which is not generally successful with people in my post 65 age group. He felt I was a good candidate and the surgery was scheduled 6 weeks out. I was on pain medication during this time and started PT. I believe the PT both, pre & post surgery, greatly helped in my recovery. I practiced “hopping” with the walker prior to surgery as I would be non weight bearing for 8-10 weeks. Dr. Gans is an excellent surgeon and I am now 5 months post-surgery, riding my stationary bike and walking the neighborhood. He’s given me the ability to get back to a normal exercise program and avoid knee replacement. I had 3 post surgical appts & Dr Gans listened to my concerns & the appt was never rushed. He said to be sure to contact him if I ever have any other orthopedic issues. Kudos to Maddie as well. It was a pleasure to work with her.
