I was in the hospital for two months after going into a coma. When I woke, I had almost no use of my arms and legs. I went through an intensive in-patient therapy program where I relearned the basics of movement. Then I went to Dr. Roop for my outpatient therapy. Our main goal was just walking, getting used to trusting my feet again, getting those muscles and nerves activated. He pushed me (literally sometimes when we worked on balance!) when I felt I was plateauing, encouraged me to keep going, even told me I did great when I knew I sucked that day. I worked with him twice a week for three months. I began walking more, gained confidence, and greatly improved. My gait is *almost* normal today! Overall, he was a fantastic PT who pushed and encouraged me to keep going, while also giving me moments to rest. He's great at reading what the patient needs in the moment. I highly recommend him.
