Suffice it to say that Jason's deep experience and our chemistry resulted in a formula that successfully addressed my issues regarding past family trauma. Jason turned out to be just the person I needed and in contrast to remarks from another reviewer, a feisty ally on my behalf, exposing unrealistic thinking that was not in my own best interest.The best fit of a therapist will vary depending on the issue being addressed, the background of the therapist and the personalities in the pairing. I'd compare therapy to the teacher-student relationship; research shows the connection between the two is the most significant factor in successful learning. I believe that holds true to some degree in the therapist-patient relationship as well. Every patient brings his or her own biases to the table and each therapist will have a slightly different approach as well. It's clear that at times a therapist's job is to say things the patient should consider even if he is not ready to hear or accept.
