Joan is incredible! She literally saved my life. She is empathetic, knowledgeable, honest, down-to-earth, open-minded, nonjudgemental, understanding, and comforting. I've visited therapists before that are knowledgeable but hadn't worked on their 'stuff', she clearly has. I recommend her to everyone. A number of acquaintances have become regular clients over the years and she really changes lives. I don't know if she has a specialty but my acquaintances have found her incredibly helpful in working with eating disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, relationships/couples, childhood trauma, grief, general life stressors, and emotional intelligence and communication. If you are looking to work through difficult stuff or just want someone to listen, she will meet you where you are in a safe and supportive environment.
