I just had my hip resurfacing surgery done last week by Dr Stephen Smith and Katie Smith. While it is still early, I could not be happier and would highly recommend them. I had visited two orthos before Dr Smith and finally got his recommendation from a tennis friend who had both hips resurfaced years ago. Here are my key points: - Both Dr Smith and Katie is very willing to take the time to explain everything and answer your questions. Others I visited were not the same. - Hip resurfacings are more complicated and they have a lot of experience with them - mine went great. I am 5 days post-op and the hip feels really good. Some pain near hip flexor (which was one of my primary areas of pain before the surgery) and some stiffness, but the hip feels surprisingly good. I was worried about how much muscle pain there would be - Dr Smith went between the muscles and recovery is good so far. - And I feel well supported by the ortho office, PT, and Cigna post surgery.
