Laurel is a kind and diligent provider: I've worked with her for years and recommend her highly for both newcomers and those who’ve been in therapy before. I first encountered Laurel in family sessions: I found her background in positive psychology and relationships unique yet grounding, and always appreciated her levelheaded clarity. I now work with Laurel on a one-on-one basis: we've developed methods for managing my anxiety; reframing personal relationships; and encouraging post-traumatic growth, the last of which has helped me make significant strides in life. By focusing on personal character strengths and strategies for handling adversity, I have a newfound sense of stability and joy, a change friends and colleagues can see: I count myself lucky to have found such a gentle, intelligent, and thoughtful collaborator in managing my mental health. Lastly, Laurel is also an affirming ally for LGBTQIA+ patients, and I have always felt safe, listened to, and respected.
