I had surgeries for wrist fracture and carpal tunnel. Because it was a bad fracture, and I am in my 70s, my recovery was not as fast as I had hoped. So sometimes I got discouraged. My OT at OSU,Leann, was so encouraging and patient, that it helped me adjust to the recovery process. Equally important was her skill and gentleness in all the treatments she gave me. I probably met with her once a week for about 7 or 8 weeks and now my hand and wrist are almost completely back to normal. The numbness in my fingers is minimal and gets better every day. It is definitely important to receive therapy after fracture repair and carpal tunnel release. And Leann is an excellent therapist, I was very lucky to receive care from her.
