I feel that Lori is very sweet natured and empathetic which is a very important quality for a therapist. She seems to understand what abuse victims go through and doesn't discredit their experiences as many in this field inadvertently tend to do. It happens often, to err on the side of caution, and have a patient challenge their own perspective, which again, gives the person who is harmful in their lives the benefit of the doubt. It's refreshing to see someone who has the disposition to see how someone who has an abusive or personality disordered parent or spouse might be affected by the way they are taken advantage of, dismissed, discredited and manipulated. It's important for the client to feel heard, and validated. Bravo and good on you, Lori! Thank you for being there for my family during this difficult chapter.
