She dimmed the lights and brought in soft aromatherapy and suggested different positions for relief through contractions (I spent most of my time on a birthing ball in the warm shower). Her knowledgable calming presence is what allowed me to work through my first natural childbirth - she even stayed past her shift to see me almost to the very end! That's commitment!
