We live TWO HOURS north of his office in White Plains/Weill Cornell/NY Presbyterian, but we made the trip twice a week for nearly a year because Dr. Specht is just THAT good and our daughter needed the best. An exceptional doctor who helped our daughter fight her way out of a very dark place. His extensive experience with patients, like our daughter, who present with multiple diagnoses was exactly what was needed and his comforting, often humorous demeanor set us all at ease. Dr. Specht’s approach focuses not just on the patient, but also on teaching the parents how to help their child/adolescent. His “token economy” was an effective tool for us when we had no idea what else to do. He was available by email/phone late in the evening when we were in the Emergency Department (a few times, unfortunately) but his approach with our daughter eventually made those ED visits unnecessary. Without hesitation I would highly recommend Dr. Specht.
