What stood out from my visits (which took place regularly over several years) was his kindness, his gentle humor, and his insight into (and openness to) different approaches that might work well for my changing needs. He used a variety of approaches--based in mindfulness based cognitive therapy & also hypnosis. Treatment for depression and anxiety helpful. In his gentleness he found it difficult not to engage with whatever specifics I brought in on a particular day (adhd...) instead of shifting attention back to the core issues&goals we'd earlier established. I'd have liked a bit more structure in terms of returning more often to check on those. He's not a stern taskmaster like some therapists, but more nurturing. But if you need structure or more direct and stronger guidance, you'll want to ask him for that.
