I’ve worked with many therapists and Dr. Katz was one of the most insightful, astute and empathic clinicians. He’s warm and caring, yet calls you out (not in a judgy way) when you need to hear it. Unlike other clinicians, he’s transparent and straightforward. He sugarcoats nothing, yet he’ll accept you however you are with whatever you bring. I think about that lately because I was an exceptionally difficult client in retrospect. I’m a different person because of him without question. I saw him after a traumatic experience with another therapist, and Dr. Katz helped me heal and restore my trust in others. He also taught me to be more empathic bec of how empathic he was to me. His professional integrity is hard to beat and seems to genuinely like his work. I never felt I was bothering him on the rare occasion I reached out in between sessions. There was a period in grad school that I was broke, and he saw me for a low rate just so we didn’t have to stop treatment. Highly recommend.
