They say the purest form of giving is anonymous to anonymous—Sheilagh McGreal is such a person. In my time with her as a highly sensitive, African-America man, who was experiencing depression and discovering the depths of complex trauma in the height of the pandemic—Sheilagh shone a light bright enough for me to follow, yet not blinding enough to attract an audience to see what she was doing. Her fact-based approach, her clinical expertise, her empathetic and warm demeanour, her humorous yet respectful energy, her ability to listen carefully and attentively, her commitment to making sessions about her clients and their needs—I need not say more because there is so much to say about my experience with Sheilagh McGreal. I left our exit session as a more self-accepting man with greater self-esteem and confidence in my efficacy. I am indebted to Sheilagh for helping me rediscover my appropriateness to life. It is a joy to express so small a measure of my inestimable gratitude.
