I started seeing Yvonne 3.5 years ago. Since childhood it's been a suggestion for me to go to therapy. The right therapist for you is obviously very personal. She recognized trauma from the beginning, yet picked up quickly I was not ready. I was open to the logical DBT work though, but mostly just loved how she listened and responded to me. Even when my insurance didn't cover, I paid cash to stick with her. Just like every therapist before her, I spent years figuring out the current. A past good therapist tried for 5 years, when relocated she handed me a HUGE book as a parting gift, inferring it may help "mom issues" hah! I did need 12 step personal stories (book/shares) to break my denial. I told her I was ready for trauma therapy in Spring 2021 - still it is totally at my pace using desired tools she's suggested. Wow - I am awakening to my authentic self with true freedom and my little boy is soaking my recovery opening the door to ending generational trauma.
