My autistic grandson was afraid to get an eye exam. I took him with me to my yearly exam with Dr. Chan. She was kind enough to allow him in the exam room with me. Answered every question he had about the exam, should him the computer images of retina over the years. Explained how and why there was a need to put drops in peoples eyes to dilate. Not only did she alleviate his fears, she gave him the confidence to get his eyes examed when he returned home.
