answer
Compression sleeves can typically help prevent muscle cramping if used in combination with other forms of treatment. Muscle cramps usually occur when the muscle is in a shortened position. Compression sleeves assist the muscle into a lengthened position, which helps reduce the chance of cramping. Added compression also helps maintain blood flow and keeps the muscle warm, which can also aid in preventing muscle cramps. (This answer provided for NATA by the Saint Louis University Athletic Training Education Program.)
